Oud Mood

Saffron and rose open it, then caramel and agarwood take over and it turns into something closer to dessert than to a traditional oud. The base is amber, incense and musk. Sweet, thick, and recognizable from across a room.

This is oud for people who find most oud too austere. The saffron and rose sit up front for about twenty minutes before the caramel arrives, and from there it is a warm resinous sweetness with agarwood underneath rather than on top. Black pepper keeps it from going syrupy. Projection is heavy for the first few hours and it holds on fabric for a full day. Cold weather suits it. In August it can be too much.
