Pineapple, black currant and apple hit first, sweet and a little tart. Rose and Moroccan jasmine come through the middle alongside dry birch and patchouli, an odd but effective floral-woody twist for a men’s fragrance. The base is where it earns the name Black: oakmoss, musk, ambergris and vanilla, dense and a little smoky. It is built for cold weather and low light, not for the office.
