Khamrah

Khamrah smells like mulled wine if mulled wine turned into a fragrance. Cinnamon and nutmeg first, then dates and praline, then a long vanilla-tonka-benzoin base with a smoky edge from myrrh.

It starts spiced and warm, cinnamon and nutmeg over a little bergamot, genuinely close to a glass of mulled wine. Dates and praline move in next, sweet without being cloying, and tuberose keeps the middle from going flat. The base is where it earns its reputation: vanilla, tonka bean and benzoin, warm and resinous, with myrrh adding real smoke instead of the usual synthetic sweetness. It projects boldly and lasts the longest of anything we sell, easily ten to twelve hours. This is a cold-weather, evening, special-occasion bottle, not a summer one.
