Teriaq Intense opens with saffron and bergamot, sharp for about ten minutes, then drops into a boozy plum and cinnamon heart that reads more dessert bar than fruit bowl. The base is where this one earns its name. Amber, tonka bean, and benzoin build a thick, resinous warmth that clings to a scarf or a jacket for a full day and then some. It is louder and darker than the original Teriaq, less about cheerful sweetness and more about that heavy, spiced-liqueur smell you get walking past a bar with the door propped open on a winter night.
